1. I need WR help!
Robert Ferguson’s injury last Sunday most likely means he won’t be able to play this Sunday. Of my two starting wide receivers, Plaxico Burress is one. Who should the other be? These are my choices:
1) Braylon Edwards – CLE vs HOU
2) Mike Williams – DET vs CHI
3) Lee Evans – BUF vs NE
4) Marcus Robinson – MIN vs CAR
5) Josh Reed – BUF vs NE
6) Tyrone Calico – TEN vs OAK, especially with both Drew Bennett and Brandon Jones hurt.
Also, given that Chris Brown has been Mr. durable so far this year and assuming he continues to be, is Travis Henry going to get enough touches to be a worthwhile pickup?
Thanks in advance.

Hey,

My money league is one that allows MONDO points for returns. e.g Wes Welker
gave me 49 points during the week that LT gave me only 36 (with his pass,
punt and kick tri-pronged attack).

Can you examine some of the return guys? I ask because I put in McAfee (New
Orleans) and he gave me a nice goose-egg.

ALSO, can you sometimes compare and contrast position players. Instead of
saying, "Play Payton, don't play Brooks, play Westbrook" ETC.

FEW teams have more than two superstars, so throw in a comparison of Bledsoe
and Vick OR Hasselback and Brunell. Or running backs, Stephen Davis vs.
Bettis.

Thanks for your hard work and research.

Jeff

Your show is great. The commentary is spot on and the chemistry is good. Yes,
I have a 'suggestion'.

Teach your cohort to SPEAK INTO THE MIKE...especially when you take one of
your frequent vacations. All last week he was coming in and out on my iPod
and I had to keep turning the volume up and down.

VERY FRUSTRATING.

Keep up the good work. Get some sponsors and give away some schwag. I'd likea football. Send to the address below.

Thanks,

Jeff

Robert Ferguson is expected to miss 2-4 weeks with a sprained LCL.
"He has made some Lazerus-like comebacks in the past," coach Mike Sherman. "We hope to get him back soon." This is good news for Ferguson owners who feared the worst. Don't drop him.
Antonio Chatman will start in his place...
Coach Mike Sherman confirmed Monday that Ahman Green will miss the rest of the 2005 with a torn thigh tendon.
He will undergo surgery Tuesday. Coach Sherman opined that Green could be ready for training camp next year, but it's uncertain whose training camp that will be. Green is a free agent this off-season and isn't likely to get attractive offers coming off a rough start followed by an injury like this.

WR Andre Johnson (calf) is expected to practice on a limited basis this week.
"What I'd like to anticipate is Andre Johnson coming back," coach Dom Capers said. Johnson has been a huge disappointment this season, but his injury has given WR Jabar Gaffney some value

Coach Bill Parcells said yesterday that RB Julius Jones (ankle) is unlikely to play Sunday against Arizona.
"It doesn't look good for Jones," Parcells said. If Jones can't go, expect Marion Barber to once again get the bulk of the work in Dallas' backfield.

WR Michael Jenkins left last night's game in the third quarter with a knee injury and did not return.
Jenkins suffered the injury reaching for a pass from QB Michael Vick that was behind him. If Jenkins is out for an extended period of time, WR Roddy White will step in for him.

Alex Smith sprained two ligaments on the inside of his knee during Sunday's game.
The team says they are unsure if he'll play, then said he's probable for week eight. Smith's backup is Ken Dorsey. Should be a fun game against the Bucs.
Chris Brown is expected to practice this week despite his shoulder injury.
Brown will undergo tests after losing feeling in his hand, but is expected to play this week.
Not surprising with Travis Henry returning from his suspension.

Roy Williams (quad) didn't sound positive about his chances for returning this week.
``I'm not sure right now,'' said Williams. ``I've got a Grade 3 pull, which is the worst grade, and you just go out there and do what I do with a pull like that.'' The Lions could be forced to start Scottie Vines this week.
WR Joe Jurevicius left Sunday's game in the fourth quarter with a pinched nerve in his neck.
Jurevicius had six catches for 54 yards before the injury. He said after the game that he didn't think it would be serious.
WR Torry Holt (knee) was a late scratch Sunday and his status for Week 8 is uncertain.
Holt said yesterday that he has a strained PCL, rather than simply a bruised knee. It was the first time Holt has missed a game in seven seasons.

Giants president and Co-CEO Wellington Mara has passed away at the age of 89.
Mara is well known as one of the classiest and influential owners in the history of the NFL. Coach Tom Coughlin spoke about how important it was for the Giants to win last weekend with Mara's health deteriorating
Mike Martz said in a press conference Monday that he will plans to coach the Rams in 2006.
He will make a full recovery from his health problems. Asked if he would coach the Rams, Martz said, "I'm under contract. I love it here." It's possible the front office could have other ideas, but that's just speculation at this point.

RB Fred Taylor said yesterday that his ankle injury is fine and he expects to start Sunday.
"I just heal quick,'' Taylor said. Yeah Fred, because it's not like you're know for being injury prone or anything. If healthy, expect Taylor to have a good game Sunday against St. Louis.

With the Packers thin at wide receiver, Freddie Mitchell may be an option.
Green Bay is expected to work Mitchell out this week. "One thing about Freddie, he has always made plus plays," Donald Driver said. "We don't know what they're going to do. If they bring in Freddie, fine. Right now, we need some more help. We have two big starters going down and there’s nothing we can do about it."
Coach Romeo Crennel said yesterday that he is considering benching QB Trent Dilfer in favor of rookie QB Charlie Frye.
"We'll discuss it and we'll come out [this] week, and we'll do something," Crennel said. "And hopefully with what we do, we can show improvement. If that involves changing personnel, then there's a possibility that personnel will be changed."
There is once again talk in Baltimore of RB Jamal Lewis not playing at full capacity because he is unhappy with the Ravens for not offering him a new contract.
This time is it former Ravens defensive end Michael McCrary doing the talking. "Jamal is a warrior, one of the few warriors on the team," McCrary said. "He loves being physical and running over people. He's not even close to being finished. You've got to pay your warriors. They have to be able to go out on the field and be completely focused. There can't be any interference because they play at a different level than other players."
According to the Arizona Republic, coach Dennis Green hasn't thought about who will start at quarterback Sunday against Dallas.
There shouldn't be much to think about. Josh McCown played poorly last week, but Green has yet to win a game in Arizona with another QB under center.
Brooks Bollinger completed 12-of-20 passes for 94 yards in relief of Vinny Testaverde Monday night.
It's a pipe dream, but we can expect the Matt Leinart talk to being in earnest this week in the New York papers. With Vinny Testaverde possibly out, Bollinger is in line to take over for the decimated Jets offense.

Rudi Johnson complained about his lack of use during Sunday's game.
"They do what they do, they're trying to turn me into a thief, but I ain't a thief," Johnson said about earning his money with only 12 carries. Rudi isn't going to get the ball much in games the Bengals trail in because of Chris Perry.
Cowboys signed K Scott Suisham
Coach Bill Parcells had this ringing endorsement for the former practice-squad player Monday, "I don't know if he'll do any better, but it's hard to live with what we got right now." Jose Cortez was released on Monday...
WR Jerome Mathis returned seven kickoffs for a team-record 266 yards Sunday.
Mathis had four returns of at least 35 yards, including an 89-yard touchdown. "In my opinion, today he could have had three," special-teams coach Joe Marciano said. "He was so close to scoring three touchdowns."

Guys,

Definitely the funniest podcast. In regards to LaDainian last week, Philly just flat out stuffed him. They loaded the box and forced SD to beat them with the pass. Did they even cover the Chargers receivers? I think LT, after layin' an egg, is going to bounce back big against KC. You have to expect this one or two games. Certainly not gonna bench him. He's your stud. Keep up the great work fellas!
