I have to say, that god the fantasy baseball season is over…It was incredibly horrendous for me, but my former co-host, Chris Adams won it all…Congratulations Chris…We did a head to head American League only league and some how, despite what I thought were poor decisions, he got hot at the right time to win it all…
In my five by five mixed league, I finished 6th of 9 which is pitiful…
Time to take a look at the final gmail of the season and it comes from ARon who writes.
I will probably end the year in 5th place so I am now looking toward next year and my keepers. We are allowed up to 5 keepers. When you keep a player you forfeit that round draft pick. My top 4 picks this year were Abreu, Santana, Ortiz and Lidge. I traded Lidge for Oswalt who was also taken in the 3rd round. I plan on keeping Santana, Oswalt and Ortiz in rounds 2, 3, and 4 (Ortiz moves to 4 because Oswalt was picked earlier then Ortiz in the 3rd round). My 4th keeper is H. Street in the 23rd round. I am not sure who my last keeper should be. Pickups default to the 18th round. I drafted in C. Cordero in the 18th round and I traded for J. Cantu and Cliff Lee who were pickups and would also cost me an 18th rounder next year. What should I do? I would love to have 7 keepers but I can't. Since I am already keeping Street I probably won't keep Cordero but I am not sure if I should keep Lee or Cantu who both had a tremendous years. Or should I keep both Lee and Cantu (rounds 18 and 19 because they were both pickups), let Oswalt go and keep Ortiz in the 3rd round? Thanks for your help. Keep up the great work on both shows.
Aron Bergman Number 1, thanks for listening to both shows...It is much appreciated...Make sure you go to Fantasyfocuspodcast.com and subscribe to the shows so you get fresh ones as soon as they become available...I plan on teaming up with porterhouse and doing a couple of baseball shows during the winter...If your subscribed, you'll get them right away...
There is no way in hell you can let the possible MVP of the league go...I definately keep big pappi, Abreu and Santana...I like Huston Street especially in the 23rd round...He will probably go in the top 12 rounds...So at 23rd, thats a steal and you could still pick someone else up in the later part of the draft to go in tandem with him...
So now I look at balance for you in the draft...You have two sluggers (if abreu bounces back), a starter and a closer...So now your dilemna...Without knowing what rounds everyone else keeps, I think I keep Oswalt as well...Chances are good, there will not be a 1st through 4th first round pick available...So you now have on your roster to begin the year with a 1, 2, and two threes...You don't know what Cantu will do next year...Although now I think you can say that Lee is for real...After last years great start and a full solid season this year...So what is my final answer...If you think that you can get a talent in the first couple of rounds (based on what everyone else will keep or drop, plus whats still available), than keep Lee...But I also think that Lee and Cantu will be available when you finally get to pick in the early rounds...They will fly under the radar because Lee does not have great strikeout numbers...And unless your name is Crawford, Devil Rays will last longer in the draft...
My two cents...
Again thanks for listening...

Good job, Bill. Thanks for shepherding me through my first fantasy baseball season. Shame about your partner. If you're looking for a replacement for next season, give me a call. I finished 13th in a league of 16 despite having Pujols, M. Young, Mora and Mussina all season. I won't be a big upgrade to Chris. -chuckle-
